Wellbeing

At Sackville Street Public School, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.

Our school community prioritises the building of capacity in individuals to control their own behaviour and create proactive school-wide systems for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviour. Students take part in weekly Total Behaviour and Reality Therapy lessons (a concept from William Glasser's Choice Theory research) that reinforce social skills, making safe and responsible choices, resilience and positive behaviour at school. Parents and carers can find valuable insights into these lessons through our parent sessions.
